So, just like most seminarians I took advantage of the CDO's offer of a free profile last year. I applied for and received online access to my CDO profile, and dutifully entered the information over the course of several months. When I got the the skills section I was a bit hesitant because I didn't know what to prioritize, but I plowed ahead. At that point I ran into problems with the online form. It did not allow me to enter all that many skills.
So earlier this year I requested a paper update form, informing them of the problem with the web site. They sent it, along with an $18 bill! Goodness! No one warned me about that one, and I was a bit put off since I couldn't use the online system… I'm basically being billed because something isn't right with their interface. Perhaps it is my compuer–I may be the only one with this problem–but it usually isn't just one person.
Then, as I leaf through the infomation they sent, I noticed that when you update your profile a print out is sent to "you and your bishop." Again, yikes! Does that mean that the Bishop has been getting a copy every time I go in to attempt to tweak my profile online? I hope not… Given the errors I was encountering, I was in every few days playing around for a month or so. By now it is going to look like I'm desparate for a job someplace else.
I hope I can someday get the online version working, because we've been told to keep updating this and at $18 a pop that adds up.
