Webmail came back up this morning. No news, though.

No update yet this morning on the AF. Of course the base web mail has been down since Thursday afternoon, so no telling if they've sent me an e-mail. I contacted tech support this morning and we'll see if they can get it operational. If not I'll e-mail the people at assignments and ask them to please use my civilian e-mail account for the time being.
UPDATE: Called support and they knew about the issue but had no ETA for fixing it, so I dropped assignments an e-mail this afternoon asking them to please switch to my civilian e-mail address for now.

If you can't get out to see the big fireworks display tonight, you can always have a virtual one by clicking here. This is actually kind of fun and really avoids the whole crowds thing. I gotta say, after a week of teaching class and doing my regular church job, staying home for the virtual fireworks is really appealing… Some nice introvert time!
No other real update at this time. Been a working sort of day, with getting comments done for the students, laundry, vacuuming, and dishes. It feels good to have all that accomplished. Well, almost accomplished, there's the buzzer on the drier now. Later!
Today we have more information for you for the July 4th holiday (is anyone in a country that doesn't celebrate July 4th?). This time, as the calendar puts it: "Everything you always wanted to know about fireworks, including the chances of blowing off your hands because of carelessness after a couple of drinks at the Independence Day celebrations tomorrow."
Whee.
Here in Hawaii you can buy and set off your own fireworks. I've seen some monster packages, in fact, leaving COSTCO. If memory serves, though, we see more backyard fireworks on New Year's Eve than on the Fourth.
